Alberta Health Services is issuing an alert about a Hepatitis A scare at a McDonald’s in Lethbridge. The area’s medical officer of health, Dr. Lorne Clearsky, says anyone who consumed food or a drink from the restaurant in the city’s downtown between August 20th and 22nd may have been exposed.Vaccines are being offered to the public.

The first clinical trials on a new investigational drug being developed to treat infections caused by hepatitis C virus have been successfully completed. Completion of the initial phase (phase 1a) of trials of INX-189 means the chances of it becoming an approved medicine have significantly improved.
